Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Components (in order)

  • Title Page (upload as a separate file for double-blind review):

    • Article title (max 15 words)

    • Author names, affiliations, and country (ORCID optional)

    • Corresponding author’s email and mailing address

    • Funding statement and grant numbers (if applicable)

    • Conflict of interest declaration

    • Acknowledgments (non-author contributions)

    • Author contribution statement (e.g., using CRediT roles)

  • Blinded Manuscript (no author names or identifying details):

    • Abstract (150–250 words)

      • For research articles, use structured format: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions

    • Keywords: 3–6 terms (use standardized terms when possible)

    • Main Text (IMRaD structure):

      • Introduction: Purpose, rationale, research questions

      • Methods: Design, participants/data, materials, procedures, ethics, analysis

      • Results: Findings with statistics or qualitative evidence

      • Discussion: Interpretation, implications, limitations, future directions

      • Conclusion: Key summary points

    • References: APA 6th edition style

    • Tables: Each on a new page at the end

    • Figure Captions: Grouped at the end

    • Appendices: As needed

    • Data/Code Availability Statement: Include links or explain restrictions

    • Ethics Statement: Confirm ethics approval and informed consent for human/animal research


2. Formatting & Style

  • Language: U.S. English, clear and active voice

  • File Type: .docx only

  • Page Layout: Letter or A4, 1-inch (2.54 cm) margins, double-spaced throughout

  • Font: 12-pt Times New Roman or equivalent serif font

  • Page Numbers: Top right; line numbers recommended

  • Headings: Follow APA 6 style

    • Level 1: Left-aligned, Bold, Title Case

    • Level 2: Left-aligned, Bold, Title Case

    • Level 3: Indented, bold, sentence case, period. Text continues…

  • Tables & Figures:

    • Mention all tables/figures in the text (e.g., "see Table 1", "Figure 2 shows...")

    • Submit tables in editable text format (not as images)

    • Images: 300 dpi (TIFF/PNG/JPG), with clear labels

    • Table titles go above; figure captions below

    • Credit all sources and permissions

  • Acronyms: Spell out on first use

  • Permissions: Authors must obtain rights for any third-party content used


3. Research Integrity & Ethics

  • Authorship: All authors must have made meaningful contributions and approved the final manuscript

  • Conflict of Interest: Disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts

  • Plagiarism & Similarity: Manuscripts must be original; <15% similarity allowed (excluding references/boilerplate)

  • Ethical Compliance: Confirm ethics approval and informed consent for studies involving humans or animals

  • Transparency: Report data sources, methods, exclusions, and analysis decisions. Share data/code when possible


4. APA 6th Edition Citations & References

  • In-text citation examples:

    • One author: (Smith, 2019)

    • Two authors: (Smith & Lee, 2019)

    • 3–5 authors: First use (Smith, Lee, & Kim, 2019); then (Smith et al., 2019)

    • 6+ authors: (Smith et al., 2019)

    • Quotes: Include page number (Smith, 2019, p. 34)

  • Reference List:

    • Double-spaced, hanging indent (0.5 in), alphabetical order

    • Include DOIs in this format: doi:10.xxxx/...

    • Italicize journal names and volume numbers

    • Article/book titles in sentence case

    Examples:

    • Journal Article:
      Chen, A., Patel, R., & Gomez, L. (2018). Title of article. Journal Name, 12(3), 123–145. doi:10.1234/abcd.2018.00123

    • Book:
      Smith, J. A. (2016). Book title: Subtitle. New York, NY: Publisher.

5. Submission Package (Upload in OJS)

  • Cover Letter to Editor:

    • State the article’s significance and originality

    • Confirm it’s not under review elsewhere

    • Optionally suggest reviewers with names, affiliations, and emails (note conflicts of interest)

  • Title Page (with author details)

  • Blinded Manuscript (no names or identifying details)


6. Peer Review & Editorial Process

  • Model: Double-blind peer review

  • Initial Check: Scope fit, completeness, formatting, similarity check

  • Decisions: Accept, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, Reject

  • Revisions: Include a point-by-point response to reviewer comments

  • Appeals: Allowed with written justification; final decisions rest with Editor-in-Chief


7. Submission Checklist

  • ☐ Original work, not under review elsewhere

  • ☐ All authors approve the submission

  • ☐ File is in .docx format and follows journal style

  • ☐ Title Page is separate and includes all author details

  • ☐ Main manuscript is anonymized for double-blind review

  • ☐ Abstract is 150–250 words; 3–6 keywords included

  • ☐ Tables and figures are numbered, cited in-text, and correctly formatted

  • ☐ References follow APA 6 with DOIs where available

  • ☐ Ethics statement and data/code availability included

  • ☐ Conflicts of interest and funding disclosed

  • ☐ Permissions obtained for third-party content
